21 Aug 05 - Sponsored bike ride report! - October update: the sponsor money kept on coming with a final, magnificent total of £420!! Sunday 21 August saw our first official sponsored event. THANK YOU so much to Ruth, Glenn, William, Emily and Brian for getting on their bikes to raise money for Daniel's Trust (and to all their sponsors for digging deep). Please read on and enjoy the photos..... As members of Daniel’s family we wanted to raise some money in his memory, and have some fun at the same time! We decided a bike ride along Marriotts Way from Lenwade to Reepham, would be ideal at around 8 miles. We were hoping for some sun, but it stayed cloudy, but it would take a lot more than that to put us off! There were 10 of us all together, Glenn, Ruth, William, Emily, Brian, 4 bears and a duck (yes, a duck which belonged to Daniel!) Beverley walked part of the route, and was official photographer! We attached our ‘Daniel Courtney Bears’ to the front of our bikes, and I think they enjoyed the ride! As you can see from the photos, we had a great time, and finished off the day with tea and cakes! We will let you know soon how much we raised, and hope very much to make this an annual event. Fantastic news.... the bike ride raised £370 - thank you to everyone for their generosity! And people are already booking their place for next year's event... A big thank you to Beverley - ace photographer for capturing the day on glorious 'Kodachrome'
