30 December 2005 - Sponsored Run in Memory of Umar Qureshi
Congratulations to Emdad Rahman, who recently completed a half marathon to help raise money for research into Microvillous Atrophy. Emdad completed the run in memory of Umar Qureshi, who was at Birmingham Children's Hospital at the same time as Daniel, and suffered from the same condition.

"The day started cool, but dry and clear - excellent running weather, and I made it to the start at Paddington Basin, giving me plenty of time to have a warm-up, change running tops twice(!) and do those other important pre-race niceties" said Emdad.
Being a little out of shape, overall, I found it a tough race, which is something I'll have to work on, but it was pretty well organised overall and the other runners I chatted with were a friendly bunch.
"Next race is the Edinburgh, Gothenburg and London, including a couple of half marathons starting in just under two weeks time."
