15 July 07 - Doctors: We Must All Donate Organs (Sunday Times)

It was encouraging to see an article about organ donation on the front page of today's Sunday Times. The article entitled 'Doctors: We Must All Donate Organs' talks about the expectation that the Chief Medical Officer, Sir Liam Donaldson, is to call for a change in the law to introduce a system of presumed consent for organ donation.

Less encouraging are some of the comments that have been written in in the Have Your Say section in response to the article.

For more information on the three different organ donor systems: opt-in, opt out and required request then check out the BBC's highly informative organ donation website. If you are in favour of having an opt-out system in the UK you can add your name to the e-petition and the Opt Out Campaign both of which are calling for a change in the law. The debate goes on...
