17th February 2007 - Financial Year End Results for 2006We are delighted to announce our first end of financial year results (covering the period from 16th June 2005 to 17th April 2006). During this period we raised a fabulous £13,155.74! This amount has far exceeded our expectations and we would like to pass on our very grateful thanks to everyone who helped us achieve this incredible total. In November 2005, we were lucky to have the support of Hay Group Solutions who organised and hosted a fabulous Charity Auction on our behalf. It was a great evening, but best of all we raised £6,198.68 and helped to increase awareness of both the Charity and organ donation. Family members and friends did us proud by walking, cycling, swimming and baking for Daniel (amongst other things!) - raising a superb £946.73. Our Daniel Courtney Trust Bears went down a storm (and around the world!) with sales amounting to £911.80. Just by going shopping online you helped us raise £254.13! Donations alone amounted to £4844.40 - absolutely brilliant - thank you! We hope, albeit in a small way, that we have helped to make some people's lives a little better by the two donations that we made during the year. In February 2006 we donated £1,250 to fund an Internet Facility at Edward House, and in March 2006 we donated £500 to the King's College Hospital StarFish Appeal. The generosity of all our supporters has been totally overwhelming and means we are one step closer to funding research into Microvillous Atrophy - which is our long term aim. Finally, raising awareness of organ donation is as important to us as raising money. Although it is impossible to quantify, a number of people have told us that they signed up to the organ donor register after hearing Daniel's story. We hope that many more have done the same. If you haven't already done so, please think about becoming an organ donor and sign up to the register. Please remember to let your family know your wishes.
